Airbnb Guest House - Website Redesign & Booking Flow Simplification
W czym tkwi problem?
Guests were finding the property through outdated third-party listings, then booking through a mix of calls, DMs, and direct enquiries - with no single source of truth for pricing or availability. Some bookings happened entirely outside Airbnb - no verification, no deposit, no protection for the owner.
Oto rozwiązanie!
I audited how guests actually moved through the booking process, then redesigned the website around one path: Airbnb. That meant adding a dedicated page explaining why bookings go through Airbnb (not the site directly) - so instead of guests bouncing between platforms or DM'ing to ask, the site pointed them straight to the verified, secure booking flow.

Całe studium przypadku
The client was getting random calls and DMs across outdated listings with no verification or deposits in place. I redesigned the site and simplified the booking flow down to one clear, secure path - bookings went from a couple of sporadic calls a month to 30 confirmed, verified bookings in 90 days.
ODKRYWAJ!
Consultation
Sat down with the owner to understand:
How guests find the property
Which channels are actually in use
What information guests get before arrival
Where the workload and risk were concentrated
This surfaced the core issue early: fragmented booking paths and private bookings with no safeguards.
Mystery shopping
Went through the guest journey as a guest would, across every entry point, checking:
Whether listings matched across platforms
Whether pricing was consistent
How easy it actually was to book
This confirmed what the owner described with evidence.
Market Research
I researched:
How similar short-stay properties handle booking flow and guest decision-making
Whether the emerging ideas were actually feasible given the owner's tools and budget
This ruled out anything unrealistic before it reached the design phase.

User journey mapping
Mapped the full guest journey end to end - every step, tool, and decision before a booking was confirmed. This showed exactly where hesitation, follow-up questions, and admin load were piling up.

Findings & report
Pulled everything into a Discovery Outcome Pack:
The problems, prioritised by severity
2-3 realistic directions
Trade-offs on guest clarity, admin effort, and security
This became the decision point with the owner before design started.

Workflow redesign
The owner chose to consolidate all bookings through Airbnb, leaning on its built-in verification, deposits, and guest safeguards instead of managing security manually. From there we:
Removed listings from other platforms
Tightened the Airbnb listing itself
Set up automated messages so guests always knew the next step
Website redesign
Redesigned the site in Figma to support Airbnb as the booking channel rather than compete with it - a full visual change, not just a messaging tweak:
Modernised the overall look - layout, typography, imagery all updated
Added a benefits and social proof sections to strengthen CRO - giving guests a clear reason to choose the property before they even hit the booking step
Added a "Why Airbnb?" page explaining the setup
Restructured the site as a clear information hub instead of a second, conflicting booking path

Final build
Took the Figma designs and built them out live in Wix Editor, making sure it's fully responsive and it follows the approved designs.
Testing & refinement
Reviewed every proposed change with the owner throughout - workflow, Airbnb setup, site structure -adjusting based on what actually worked operationally, not just what looked right on paper.
Ensured the entire site works as should - forms, buttons and links.
What changed
Before the redesign: a couple of unpredictable calls a month, no verification, no consistent pricing across platforms.
After:
30 confirmed bookings in 90 days - up from ~2 sporadic enquiries a month
5x increase in monthly booking volume
0 unsecured bookings - every booking now verified with deposits through Airbnb
Repetitive enquiries dropped sharply once pricing and rules lived in one place
Admin work now centred on a single platform instead of juggling four
The result isn't just a nicer website - it's a booking system that runs itself, with numbers that back it up.
